Types of Vehicle Registration Number

  Dateless Registrations

  A registration without a suffix or prefix is a dateless registration.
• 

  Suffix Registrations

  Registrations which have the year identifier at the end of the registration.
• 

  Prefix Registrations

  Registrations which have the year identifier at the start of the registration.
• 

  Current Style Registrations

  Current registration marks are made up of seven characters plus a space.
• 

  Northern Irish Registrations

  Consist of two groups of characters, a group of letters and a group of digits.
